The Third Screen Film Festival with lead sponsor A&E Independent Films announce the call for entries for the annual Third Screen Film Festival on May 5th, 2008.

Screen Film Festival is a broadband and mobile festival that highlights the work of short-form filmmakers.
The Third Screen Film Festival will be distributed through A&E’s on-line and mobile platforms as well through Nano TV, which is viewed on MSOTV wireless and their well–known cable outlets, reaching millions of movie lovers. Viewers will be able to vote on their favorite films online at www.thirdscreenfilmfestival.com and on their mobile devices through A&E’s mobile/WAP site at mobile.aetv.com.
Filmmakers will submit their films in 2 semi-final rounds. The first round will start on May 5th and end on July 11th. The second round will start on July 12th and end on September 26th. Viewers will vote on their favorites in each round. The winners from both semi-final rounds will then advance to a final round, where the on-line community will pick the audience winner, a panel of distinguished industry insiders will pick the jury prize, the film with the most mobile votes will win the mobile prize, and there will be a special award given to a voting member.
This year’s panel of judges include top executives, producers, and content developers from some of the most recognizable companies in the world. A celebration and screening will take place on October 23rd at the historic Museum of TV and Radio in Beverly Hills to announce the 2008 Third Screen Film Festival winners.
Last year the Third Screen Film Festival had more than 80 million consumer impressions on prominent web sites and social viral communities including the New York Times, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, YouTube, MySpace, Hollywoodreporter.com, Indieville.net, iFilm, VMIX, and Filmfestivals.com. The audience winner will win $5000 in cash to develop their film and a chance to meet top development executives at A&E IndieFilms.
